Klamath basin: snw supports entities such as the klamath watershed partnership, which straddles the border of oregon and california, extending from the high desert to the pacific ocean. The goal is to help landowners carry out restoration activities and help deliver the expertise of the working landscape alliance and national riparian service team to dozens of individual landowners in the basin, including a watershed planning process. As a result, snw has pioneered low cost, high return approaches to riparian restoration that are compatible with, and in some cases, increase, the value of a working ranch.snw has worked with numerous ranchers from the wood, williamson and sprague valleys, farmers from the klamath federal irrigation project, and with tribal leaders to develop comprehensive, community-based solutions in support of the klamath basin restoration agreement.

Activity 3

Policy : policy work focuses on regional organizing, congressional education, and building alliances with diverse interest groups. The program translates lessons learned in local community sustainability efforts into policy and institutional reform at the regional and national levels. Policy work focuses on congressional education, providing resources for community-based forestry practitioners and regional organizing.snw's policy program includes the rural voices for conservation coalition (rvcc), an initiative dedicated to building the capacity of our partner organizations to participate in national policy discussions. As part of the rvcc, snw plans and organizes all rvcc activities, distributes information on policy developments, raises funds to support the activities of our partners, and works to connect our partners with journalists.
