The association's primary role is that of negotiating and

Tigard. The association not only participates in formal bargaining

Sessions every two or three years but also ensures that the city

And the association meet their obligation not to make changes in

Past practices which are mandatory for bargaining during the term

In addition to its bargaining role, the association represents

Through any appeals of discipline that the association may lodge

That the city is in compliance with the oregon safe employment practices

The association also serves in a number of other capacities including
