To promote the interests of trucking industry members. Services include regional rate-making that is cost based and accepted by shippers, carriers and regulatory bodies. Provide tariff publication, costing studies, automated rating software and analytical support for less-than-truckload (ltl) carriers in eleven western states.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Income taxes: pitb is a nonprofit organization and operational revenue is generally exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code. Management has done an assessment of any uncertain tax positions, as required under financial accounting standards board (fasb) accounting standards codification 740, and has determined it currently has no uncertain tax benefits to record as a liability. With few exceptions, pitb is no longer subject to income tax examinations by the u.s. Federal authorities for the years before 2016.
