“The 990 is emailed to all Board members prior to filing. The 990 is prepared by an external CPA, reviewed by the Finance Manager and President. The 990 is then circulated to the Board for comment.”

“When a new member joins the Board of trustees, they are asked to confirm that they have no conflicts of interest through a statement, and sign off on this. Each year, all board members are asked to complete the statement and reconfirm that they do not have any conflicts. The policy is reviewed by the Board each year to ensure it is still current and relevant. The policy outlines procedures to follow once a conflict of interest is identified. The Board will monitor and review the conflict and the conflicted person is not permitted to vote or be part of any discussion on conflicted transactions.”

“The Executive Committee of the Board determines the Presidents compensation using comparable salary information and current market conditions. This is documented in meeting minutes. There are no other key employees”

Recent speakers have included Bruce Gilley, Ann Lee, Mark Hixon, Mel Gurtov, Katherine Boo, Daniel Lerch, Robin Hahnel, Dr. Tariq Ramadan, Lily Yeh, Marc Lynch, Dr. Jody Williams, U.S. Ambassador Frank J. Ricciardone, Jr., Evgeny Morozov, David Ensor, William Bernstein, Hussain Banai, Ioan Grillo, Tamim Ansary, Lawrence Pintak, Trita Parsi, Julia Cooke, Martha Gessen, Sen. Ron Wyden, Geoff Dyer, PW Singer, Peter C Doherty and Lester Brown. Other programs include a Young Professionals networking group and a culture and recreational-oriented Member Nights. The Organization also conducts annually the Great Decisions series on the eight most critical foreign policy issues facing the U.S. The Community Connections Program welcomes visitors through high profile programs such as the USAID sponsored Community Connections Program, State Department Youth leadership programs and the Open World Program, the only international exchange through the US Legislative Branch.”
