FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Warner pacific is a christ-centered urban liberal arts college dedicated to providing students from diverse backgrounds an education that prepares them to engage actively in a constantly changing world. As students pursue their studies in warner pacific's collaborative environment, they will begin to better understand their strengths and discover how to put those strengths into action, fulfilling their unique calling.

The alumni association is vital to the life and mission of warner pacific college, helping maintain our extended campus community by volunteering their time to activities and events that support the goals of the college. Through the alumni association, graduates can connect with other alums and find ways to engage in campus activities. The board of trustees is comprised of 19 volunteer members from a variety of professional backgrounds. These diverse members provide guidance, professional direction and governance to the institution.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

Warner pacific continues to be recognized for diversity and value. Dr. Andrea cook, our president, received the 2014 ally for excellence award from the oregon latino agenda for action. The college received three acclaimed rankings by the u.s. News & world report best college 2015 edition; top 10 regional colleges-west, great school at a great price, and best college for veterans. The washington monthly annual college guide ranked warner pacific in the top 50 baccalaureate colleges in the nation, and the military friendly schools list included the college for the 5th consecutive year. Students at warner pacific participate in hands-on service throughout our community. Tutoring at local schools, providing facilities improvements to non-profit organizations, and getting to know our friends who live outdoors are just a few of the ways that our students help make portland a better place. In 2013, warner pacific provided 51,544 hours of service to portland, valued at over 1 million. In addition to close faculty relationships, warner pacific college also offers first-year learning communities (fylcs) to help students build a foundation of success and support throughout their college experience. Fylcs are cohorts of 12-15 students who participate together in learning activities that extend outside the traditional classroom setting. Athletics are also a major part of campus life. The warner pacific knights are members of the cascade collegiate conference, which is part of the national association of intercollegiate athletics (naia) division ii. The college was thrilled to welcome back men's wrestling while also introducing women's wrestling to the athletics roster in 2014. Warner pacific student- athletes are both devoted students and dedicated athletes, representing the knights across 13 men's and women's varsity sports.
