In 2024 our Alternative Education Pathways Program provided families with a safe, nurturing, family-friendly workspace that combined project-based learning, peer-to-peer mentoring, and a community garden where participants identified 40 plant species and cultivated thousands of flowers. At the same time, our Fostering Futures Tutoring Program delivered more than 40 hours of individualized reading and math instruction to children in foster care, guiding them through 56 core standards to build academic confidence and lay the groundwork for lifelong success. Both programs foster social connections, provide vital support, and drive educational growth by connecting families and children to resources, expertise, and a caring community.

| Fostering Futures Program Impact Report 2024. This report describes the work and outcomes of our program dedicated to empowering foster children through personalized tutoring in reading and math. In 2024 our program expanded its reach by offering tailored tutoring sessions that address the unique academic challenges faced by foster youth. Our team of dedicated volunteer tutors, many with extensive educational and professional backgrounds, provided engaging instruction designed to build essential skills and boost confidence. Over the past year, the program delivered more than 36 hours of tutoring through a mix of in-person and virtual sessions, allowing us to double participation compared to the previous year. Participants mastered 56 essential skills, from foundational literacy and numeracy to problem-solving and critical thinking, setting the stage for future academic success. The one-on-one sessions ensured that each foster child received personalized guidance to overcome their specific challenges. Our work is supported by generous community contributions, including grants, in-kind donations, and extensive volunteer efforts, all of which have been critical in sustaining and expanding our services. For example, a foster parent shared that the program has not only improved her child's academic skills but also significantly boosted his self-esteem and overall confidence at school. Looking ahead, we plan to further expand service hours, enhance our curriculum with innovative technology, strengthen volunteer training, and deepen collaborations with local schools and community organizations to build a comprehensive support network for foster youth. The Fostering Futures Program is making a measurable difference in the lives of foster children by providing the academic support they need to succeed, and we remain committed to expanding our impact in the years to come. | $5,000 | $3,178 |
