Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Texas Agriculture Connection's TAC primary service program is our public engagement program. Through our website social media digital advertising and monthly newsletters TAC raises awareness of the value of the Texas agriculture industry among the general public. This program also increases statewide engagement with and understanding of the industry's challenges. As 2022 was the first year of TAC's operation building our website and social media presence was essential to performing our primary service program. We designed and built an informative website curated engaging content about the Texas agriculture industry for our social media platforms and spent money on digital advertising to deliver that content to Texas-based social media audiences. Promoted posts in 2022 reached 37,944 people. We also delivered the first of our regular newsletter update emails in 2022 reaching 310 people. Texas' farmers and ranchers were the primary beneficiaries of this primary service program.$0$58,072
Texas Agriculture Connection's secondary service program is our legislative advocacy program. Through lobby activities designed to influence legislation related to the Texas agriculture industry TAC promotes the social welfare of both the Texas agriculture industry and the people that rely on it. In 2022 our secondary service program was oriented around preparing for the 88th Texas Legislature's regular session in 2023. We focused on advocacy for legislation to address young farmer funding needs broadband infrastructure needs rural water infrastructure needs and the Texas "right to farm private property rights issue." Each of these issues present a substantial challenge for farmers and ranchers in the Texas agriculture industry. Preparatory activities included review of current legislation discussion of potential legislative improvements to existing programs and other related lobby activities. Though the primary beneficiaries of this secondary service program are Texas' farmers and ranchers all Texans benefit from a strong state agriculture industry.$0$51,750
