PARTNERS FOR PROGRESS COORDINATES WITH THE ALASKA COURT SYSTEM AND STATE ADMINISTRATIVE AGENTS TO PROVIDE AN INTEGRATED PROGAM OF ESSENTIAL THERAPEUTIC COURT SUPPORT SERVICES. BUILT ON THE NATIONAL DRUG COURT MODEL, ANCHORAGE'S WELLNESS COURT HAS SERVED AS AN EXAMPLE FOR THE REST OF THE STATE. SINCE THE WELLNESS COURT WAS STARTED IN 1999, SIMILAR THERAPEUTIC COURTS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED IN BETHEL, JUNEAU, KETCHIKAN, PALMER AND FAIRBANKS. THE PROGRAM HAS RECEIVED FUNDING FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, THE STATE OF ALASKA AND OTHER SOURCES.
