Compensation was negotiated at the time of hire in September 2008 based on market rates, and was approved by the full Board at the time of hiring.

In 2015, the Organization underwent an examination by the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS"). On March 31, 2016, the Organization received a final ruling from the Internal Revenue Service that it is an organization exempt from Federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c )(3). Organization has also received notice from the California Franchise Tax Board that is an organization exempt from California income tax under Revenue and Taxation Code Section 23701(d). Organization has evaluated its current tax positions and has concluded that as of June 30, 2016 and 2015, Organization does not have any significant uncertain tax positions for which a reserve would be necessary.

On March 31, 2016, the Organization received a final ruling from the Internal Revenue Service that it is an organization exempt from Federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c )(3). Organization has also received notice from the California Franchise Tax Board that is an organization exempt from California income tax under Revenue and Taxation Code Section 23701(d). Organization has evaluated its current tax positions and has concluded that as of June 30, 2016 and 2015, Organization does not have any significant uncertain tax positions for which a reserve would be necessary.
