A copy of the 990 is provided to the board after it is reviewed and approved by the executive director.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Upon joining the board, all directors are provided training materials stating the requirement that all directors avoid both personal and professional conflicts of interest. In addition, the articles of incorporation requires that directors disclose interest in any action or matter under discussion that would benefit the director individually or professionally, and abstain from deliberation and voting. Lastly, the organization has instituted an annual disclosure questionaire that all board members are to disclose potential conflicts of interest.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Salary and wage surveys from dma west are used to determine staff salary parameters. Additional research as presented by the washington state destination marketing organization association is used as a comparison to the wacvb surveys. Staff salaries are determined by the executive director with the approval of the executive committee of the board of directors. The salary of the executive director is determined by the executive committee of the board of directors and approved by the entire board of directors.

Upon request, documents may be viewed at the snohomish county tourism bureau (sctb) offices at a time mutually agreeable between the sctb and the individual requesting the inspection and with approval by the sctb executive director or the board chair. Additionally, financial statements are available as a matter of public record once approved by the board of director's through the snohomish county office of economic development.
