“Our books are reviewed annually by an outside accountant for accuracy. Preparation of the 990 is provided and sent to our Board for review and approval before submittal.”

“The Metropolitan Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force is a grass roots community based organization committed to helping people with Sickle Cell Disease in our local community. The Task Force was established in 1994 as a private non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide education and support to the community and to enhance the overall well-being of those afflicted with various forms of Sickle Cell Disease and their families. We work to disseminate information and provide support to people with Sickle Cell Disease, young and old.”

“MSSCTF host events and programs throughout the year that promote the mission. Our programs and events are meant to be experienced by those in need, regardless of their ability to pay. We offer Support Groups, Luncheons, Concerts, Retreats, Seminars and Training Events. MSSCTF relies on donor support and fundraising to fund the organization. Through the generosity from the community, we are able to support hundreds of families each year, and bring awareness to Sickle Cell.”

“MSSCTF most significant events for the year were, Sickle Cell Camp at Camp Burton, and our Annual Walk/Bike Event For Sickle Cell, our largest fundraising event. MSSCTF also hosted Young Adult Retreats, Annual Concerts and Holiday Events. We also support those in need by providing educational scholarships, family support for hospital stays in the form of transportation and direct financial support, as well as charitable contributions to other supporting Sickle Cell. Our entire organization is volunteer supported which allows 90 of our contributions to go back into the community to help others and support our overall mission.”
