Dog biscuit baking and cooking classes: with the "yummy" dog biscuit bakery participants roll and cut dough, weigh and package dried biscuits, complete labels and help with the distribution. The program offers structure for their daily lives while building fine motor skills, math skills, money skills and social interaction. Community involvement is accomplished when participants help deliver the biscuit packages to local stores. One day a week at the farmers' market participants help sell biscuits using their new skills and making friends. The sale of the biscuits helps fund the program while building and practicing skills for the potential employment.cooking classes augment the baking classes. A wide variety of recipes are made for participants to sample. The cooking experience helps participants learn how to prepare food at home and be more independent, increasing their confidence. Socialization, communication and cooperation skills are practiced as a part of the class, which meets one day per week. The garden project gives participants first-hand experience and knowledge about how food is grown.
