The school provides a copy of the 990 to the board of trustees for review prior to filing with the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Each year board members and school leadership are asked to sign a conflict of interest statement and to disclose any potential conflicts. Additionally, prior to engaging individuals or companies in contractual or business relationships, trustees and school officials must disclose any financial interest or connections they have with firms under consideration, and if necessary, recuse themselves from all discussions and negotiations.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

IRS990/Desc0SEATTLE WALDORF SCHOOL ENROLLS APPROXIMATELY 250 STUDENTS ON THREE CAMPUSES IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA. FOUNDED IN 1980, SEATTLE WALDORF SCHOOL OFFERS AN ENRICHING WALDORF EDUCATION TO CHILDREN FROM 18 MONTHS UP TO GRADE 12. LOCATED ON THREE CAMPUSES, ALL WITHIN EASY REACH OF URBAN FORESTS AND WATERWAYS, SWS SUPPORTS STUDENTS ON A JOYFUL JOURNEY THAT CULTIVATES IMAGINATION, HEALTHY SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT, REVERENCE FOR THE NATURAL WORLD, AND A DEEP LOVE OF LEARNING. AT SEATTLE WALDORF SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO VIEW EACH SUBJECT THROUGH MULTIPLE LENSES: LANGUAGE, HISTORY, ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, AND SCIENTIFIC OBSERVATION, AND THEN APPLY THE KIND OF CREATIVE THINKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING THAT MAKE WALDORF GRADUATES SHINE IN HIGH SCHOOL AND BEYOND.OUR CURRICULUM ALIGNS WITH THE STAGES OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND COGNITIVE AWAKENING IN KEY PHASES OF CHILDHOOD. BIRTH TO 7 YEARS, 7 TO 14 AND 14 TO 18. IN THE EARLIEST YEARS, CHILDREN LEARN PRIMARILY BY IMITATION AND ACTIVITY, AND OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS USE EXPLORATION AND PLAY AS A FOUNDATION FOR INDEPENDENT THOUGHT AND CREATIVE THINKING. IN GRADE SCHOOL, STORYTELLING AND ART ARE EMPLOYED AS TEACHING VEHICLES AS STUDENTS DEVELOP CORE ACADEMIC SKILLS THROUGH COLLABORATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING AND GROUP PARTICIPATION.FINALLY IN HIGH SCHOOL, SUBJECT SPECIALISTS LEAD STUDENTS THROUGH A RICH ARRAY OF COURSES RANGING FROM PROJECTIVE GEOMETRY TO SHAKESPEARE TO THE HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE TO BIOCHEMISTRY. GRADUATES ARE TRULY INDEPENDENT THINKERS WHO ARE WELL-PREPARED FOR COLLEGE AND THE AWAITING WORLD BEYOND.
