IRS990/Desc0SNOQUALMIE VALLEY TRANSPORTATION MT. SI SENIOR CENTER HAS BEEN PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS IN SNOQUALMIE VALLEY SINCE 2003. SNOQUALMIE VALLEY TRANSPORTATION - SVT - OPERATES THROUGH GRANTS AND DONATIONS AND IS SUPPORTED BY SNOQUALMIE INDIAN TRIBE, WSDOT, KING COUNTY METRO TRANSIT AND, OF COURSE, RIDERS. SVT PROVIDED MORE THAN 39,000 RIDES IN 2017 TO SENIORS, INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES, AT RISK YOUTH, LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. SVT ALSO ORGANIZES THE LOCAL SENIOR VOLUNTEER RIDE PROGRAM TO GET OUR SENIORS TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS THAT ARE OUTSIDE THE SVT BOUNDARIES OF NORTH BEND, SNOQUALMIE, FALL CITY, PRESTON, CARNATION AND DUVALL. BECAUSE SVT EXISTS, PEOPLE WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE STRANDED/ISOLATED CAN ACCESS HUMAN SERVICES, RESTAURANTS, STORES, JOBS AND ENTERTAINMENT WHILE MAINTAINING THEIR INDEPENDENCE. TAKING THE BUS ALSO HELPS TO KEEP TRAFFIC CONGESTION DOWN AND BETTER USES OUR NATURAL RESOURCES. AS THE ONLY TRULY LOCAL OPTION FOR TRANSPORTATION, SVT STAFF MEMBERS STAY CLOSE TO THE RIDER'S ISSUES AND ACT AS A LIAISON TO THE LARGER REGIONAL SYSTEM REPRESENTATIVES. THE SVT GOAL IS TO BE A PART OF A LONG TERM, STRATEGIC PLAN FOR ACCESSIBLE, SUSTAINABLE, AFFORDABLE, SAFE AND CONVENIENT TRANSPORTATION IN SNOQUALMIE VALLEY.
