Activity 2

Group supported division: production-adults with disabilities receive job skills training in packaging and assembly by completing production contracts in atwork!s production facility for commercial customers. Workers are paid based on productivity which allows them to maximize their potential for independence. In fy12 44 adults worked in production units where they practiced team building skills, accountability, and employment skills, preparing them for employment in community job. Nine adults with disabilities were provided the opportunity to learn skills that would prepare them for outdoor work in the landscaping industry. They were involved in maintaining grounds for large commercial and government installations, learning how to operate landscaping equipment and meet quality standards. Atwork!s recycling center provided 14 individuals with disabilities skills in greeting the public, following direction, accountability and time management, preparing them for community employment.

Activity 3

Document management division: usarchive powered by atwork! Provided work assessments for 10 individuals with disabilities in the skills of prepping and scanning documents for digital archiving, working independently, decision-making and accuracy. This division also provides significant employment opportunities for adults with a variety of physical, emotional and developmental disabilities. Approximately half of the staff in this enterprise have a disability of some sort, and is a model for our enterprise workforces moving forward.
