Major Activities

Activity 2

Early Learning. Provides academic-year three preschool classrooms for children ages 3 & 4. The preschool program features an ECEAP component representing children from very low income families, which is completely integrated with the general population of full-tuition participants. The preschool program itself is the only NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited program in our service area. In addition, we offer weekly toddler classes for kids ages 1 & 2 to give them a leg up on preschool.

Activity 3

Community activities programs Community Activities (CA) and Summer Camp. CA conducts four quarterly Family Night events in partnership with King County Metropolitan Parks District, serving 300 to 500 participants at each event. CA also participates in other local events, with the support of volunteers and staff, to ensure Encompass is enmeshed in the local communities. Finally, CA conducts break camps during regularly scheduled school breaks (winter, mid-winter, and spring), serving local preschool and elementary school aged children in a variety of themed camps. Summer Camp (SC) is a separate program that provides summer programming to children ages 2 to 9. Camps are one week in duration, and several run concurrently each week from around July 1 through mid-August. SC employs temporary staff, including teens from local High Schools, ongoing staff, and volunteers in conducting camps. Additionally, SC conducts a camp to train pre-teens too young to work in the program for future participation as camp staff. SC and CA accept all enrollments without preference.
