Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

Program participants all pay a small membership fee. Adult members can participate in the annual meeting.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

Per our bylaws, at the annual meeting any adult program member has the right to vote for officers and members of the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The finance committee will review the 990 before submission, and a copy will be distributed to management and discussed at the leadership team meeting. Forms are available to board members upon request.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The finance director monitors compliance forms and updates on an annual basis for existing members and at board orientations for new members. If there are any known conflicts these would be brought to the attention of the executive director who would discuss with the executive committee. Involved members would be absent from the discussion and action would depend on the particular issue.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

There is an annual board review, led by the compensation committee, of the executive director that determines compensation.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

These documents are available upon request.
