Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To advocate on behalf of members to support and advance the North American mineral industry by providing technical guidance and education as well as economic opportunities.

The purpose of the association is to support and advance the mineral resources and related industries, to present and inform members on technical, legislative and regulatory issues, to provide for the dissemination of educational materials related to mining, and to foster and promote economic opportunity and environmentally responsible mining.

PART X, LINE 2:

“The association is generally exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code. The association has adopted fasb asc 740-10, income taxes (topic 740), relating to accounting for uncertain tax positions. Asc 740-10 prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement process for accounting for uncertain tax positions and also provides guidance on various related matters such as derecognition, interest, penalties, and disclosures required. The association does not have any uncertain tax positions.”
