DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Restoration: Switch serves clients through referrals from local and federal law enforcement. When a woman has decided to leave the industry, Switch connects her to restorative and legal resources, as well as provides counseling and long-term support through our trained volunteer advocates. Advocates sustain relationships with our clients during their stay at outside recovery and restoration programs, as well as facilitate post- recovery success through mentorship, job search assistance, housing, and other services depending on the needs of the client. Because of the severe trauma experienced by sex trafficking victims, long-term case management is needed for each of these women. Switch provides the funding and case management to place a victim leaving the industry into an appropriate environment. Switch provides intensive therapeutic counseling, as well as a multitude of other services to help victims reclaim their lives. All 23 women have received advocacy, and 10of those have received counseling. By providing advocacy, case management, counseling, and finances, we facilitate the restoration process for survivors.$0$18,445
Intervention: outreach includes meeting women where they are in the commercial sex industry, bringing gifts to begin conversations and establish trust, and building rapport with them in order to offer help through crisis intervention. Every woman leaving the sex industry is given an emergency kit containing clothing, shoes, toothbrush/toothpaste, hair care products, bath towels and washcloths, tampons, and other essential hygiene items. We met and talked with 116 womenon the streets and in the clubs in 2015. Through the end of 2015, a total of 23 womenhave chosen to leave the sex industry with Switchs help.$0$6,763
