“Students write, direct, produce and star in anti-bullying psas based on their own experience. They use a professional quality film camera and other equipment while learning valuable teamwork and industry skills throughout production. Since partnering with filmmaker, educator and unmake a bully creator mike feurstein in 2012, don't wait to unmake a bully has worked with more than 8,000 4th-12th grade students at schools throughout the country, producing 100s of psas. The dwp has also hosted multiple premieres at donated venues (i.e. Numerica performing arts center in wenatchee, wa) where students, teachers, administrators, families and entire local communities are invited to screen the student-produced psas and behind the scenes footage.”
“The don't wait project (dwp) has told hundreds of stories and reached millions of people through its website, video, print, social media, youtube and vimeo. From local community leaders to oscar award-winning actors, project founder lisa bradshaw has interviewed people from all walks of life who have thought-provoking and life-changing stories. In partnership with town toyota auto group, a local car dealership in the dwp community, bradshaw launched a seven-state, six-week tour in search of people living don't wait lives throughout wa, or, ca, az, ut, co and id. She embarked on the journey alone with only a dslr camera and a tripod, her mac computer for editing footage and her toyota rav4, pulling a nucamp tag trailer. Throughout the tour, bradshaw focused on don't wait stories, inspiring people to revisit the nouns in life: the people, places, things and ideas we sometimes give up on along the way. These stories, focusing on veterans programs, career, mental health, philanthropy, cancer survivorship, community leaders, and more, were shared on social media platforms and aired on a local television show. After the success of the first tour, town toyota auto group is sponsoring a second tour in 2019, along with a match budget of toyota national. This time, bradshaw will travel 13 southern states, interviewing people throughout the tour about their stories related to health, career, family, community and philanthropy.”
“Beginning in 2015 with the don't wait history project exhibit, which toured in the wenatchee valley community (wenatchee valley cultural museum and pybus market), the dwp has produced two additional exhibits, including don't wait to celebrate survivorship, sharing the stories of cancer survivors in the community (on display at wenatchee valley hospital and clinics, central washington hospital and pybus market); and don't wait to unmake a bully, which showcased the work of students in wenatchee, cashmere and entiat school districts when producing their anti-bullying psas (on display at pybus market). The exhibits are displayed on several 6x12 panels and include photos and typed stories on foam board, as well as video footage looping on a television that is part of the display. Next spring, the don't wait project tour 2018 exhibit will kick off the 2019 tour while on display at pybus market for three week prior to the launch of the spring tour in march 2019.”
“"no personal shall serve in the same office for more than three (3) consecutive terms." has been omitted from the current bylaws, in order to serve the needs of the organization for consistency in leadership.”
