The organization's exempt purpose is to improve access to essential trauma and orthopaedic care for poor and vulnerable populations in underserved and resource-limited settings. It advances this mission by supporting healthcare providers and health systems through the development and charitable distribution of affordable medical technologies; providing clinical training and capacity-building programs; and disseminating multilingual educational resources to strengthen the quality and availability of life-saving and disability-preventing care. The organization works in partnership with hospitals, clinicians, and public health institutions to expand access to appropriate treatment for patients who would otherwise lack such care.

Our purpose is to provide medical devices (including our low cost negative pressure wound therapy pump and external fixator clamp) to poor and vulnerable patients suffering from musculoskeletal trauma and lacking access to essential trauma care. Our purpose is to provide these devices to medical providers serving these patients in underserved and resource-limited settings, for example in lower-income countries or during humanitarian crises. In these settings, patients do not have access to medical treatments that could save their lives or impact their quality of life going forward. We also serve an educational purpose as well by disseminating medical information in native languages to doctors in other countries.
