“| Explanation:| In 2023 Return Strong submitted IRS Form 8940 along with the required $600.00 fee to request a change in our classification from a private foundation to a public charity. This request was approved on October 26 2023. However despite this approval the IRS database was not updated to reflect our new filing requirement unit of 2025. It indicated that we were required to file Form 990-PF rather than Form 990 or 990-EZ which are appropriate for public charities. Our filing requirement was not properly reflected in the IRS database until July 2025. As a result we were unable to comply with the filing deadline because we were not aware of the obligation. This delay was not due to our negligence or willful disregard but rather an IRS systemic issue that prevented timely compliance.”
