Activity 2

Successfully implemented strategies to prevent underage and binge drinking at unr home football games. Data was gathered that showed a decrease in drinking related incidents at unr home games, including fewer arrests, less spent on security, and a general feeling among fans that the unr home games had become a family event again. The university supports the changes made in not allowing intoxicated people to enter the stadium, aggressively patrolling tailgate parties to watch for underage drinking, and stopping beer sales at half time.

Activity 3

- mobilized the community to successfully sponsor 2 prescription take back ("round up") events, netting over 250,000 prescription pills that were then destroyed by law enforcement.- launched our "heroin in talking to your kids, shouldn't you" campaign, netting $100,000 in tv and radio advertising for a $10,000 investment and successfully branding jtnn's name in the community as a leader in drug prevention.- launched several initiatives that are consistent with jtnn's mission and provide a consistent stream of funding to the organization including a contract with the reno municipal court to evaluate their co-occurring disorder court, a contract with washoe county to provide services to public inebriates with substance use disorders, and launching of jtnn's learning academy.
