Activity 2

Survivor services: provides crucial services to victims of domestic violence, street crime and/or elder abuse (i.e. Obtaining protective orders, victim's compensation, 911 telephone calls, support groups, etc.). Each year more than 25% of the women served at the shelter are victims of domestic violence. Throughout the year it is not uncommon for more than 50% of the children served on any day to be in the shelter because domestic violence occurred in their home.

Activity 3

Case management: comprehensive client specific goals are arranged by experts in the usual factors leading women and their children to a shelter stay. Domestic violence, economic barriers, or mental health challenges are addressed by professional case managers seven days a week. Each resident, whether in a short term or longer stay, meets with their case manager on a regular basis to identify the steps toward self-sufficiency.
