Mission

The organizations primary program service accomplishments include holding public events and engaging in community outreach to increase visibility and a sense of belonging for the lgbtqia+ community.

To promote social welfare by eliminating prejudice and discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community, to celebrate and support LGBTQIA+ visibility, equality and pride; and to celebrate love, self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
On September 26, 2021, the Corporation held a family event for LGBTQIA+ families and allies. The event included music, food, yoga, and children's activities. Approximately 200 people attended. The Corporation also established a presence at the Port Washington Holiday Market on November 14, 2021. On November 20, 2021, the Corporation held a vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance with approximately 25 people in attendance. On May 19, 2022, the Corporation had a table at the Port Outdoors event to increase awareness and provide support information. On June 10, 2022, the Corporation held the Chalk the Walk event with food, chalk and music to prepare for the Pride Walk and Festival, approximately 350 people participated. On June 12, 2022, the Corporation held the Pride Walk and Festival in support of the LGHTQIA+ community with approximately 1,000 participants. On Friday, June 17, 2022 the Corporation, in partnership with the public library, screened a film that was LGBTQIA+ written and directed for pride month. On August 2, 2022, the Corporation had an informational table at the National Night Out Event to increase awareness and inclusivity. In addition to these events, the Corporation held monthly parent support meetings for parents of queer and questioning youth led by local mental health professionals. Throughout the year, the Corporation printed and distributed lawn signs for the community to increase visibility and a sense of belonging for the LGBTQIA+ community, and in June 2022, the Corporation purchased and displayed 138 rainbow flags on Main Street in Port Washington to increase visibility and inclusivity for Pride month.$0$15,779
