Local progress policy action d/b/a local progress is a movement of local elected officials advancing a racial and economic justice agenda through all levels of local government. We are elected leaders who build power with underrepresented communities and fight to reshape what is possible in our localities all across the country.

The form 990 was prepared by outside accountants and reviewed by the executive director and treasurer. It was then distributed to the entire board before filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Covered employees must sign the conflict of interest policy annually. Covered persons include any members of the board, officers, executive-level employees, or non-director member of a committee with governing board delegated powers. A covered person who has an actual or possible conflict of interest discloses the existence and nature of his or her relationship or financial interest to the board of directors or the committee considering the proposed transaction or arrangement with the corporation. The disclosure must be made at or prior to the meeting of the board or committee considering the proposed transaction or arrangement with the corporation. After disclosure of the potential conflict of interest and all material facts, and after any discussion with the interested covered person, the covered person leaves the portions of all board or committee meetings at which the existence of a conflict of interest or the proposed transaction or arrangement with the corporation is considered. The remaining members of the board or committee then discusses and votes on whether a conflict of interest exists and seeks the advice of legal counsel where appropriate in making the determination. If the board or committee has reasonable cause to believe that a covered person has failed to disclose a relationship required to be disclosed under this policy, it informs the covered person of the basis for such belief and afford the covered person an opportunity to explain the alleged failure to disclose. If, after hearing the response of the covered person and making such further investigation as may be warranted in the circumstances, the board or committee determines that the covered person has in fact failed to disclose a relationship required to be disclosed under this policy, it takes appropriate corrective action.

Lppa, relies on a related organization, lppi to determine compensation . The following procedures were used by lppi to determine compensation of the top management official; the board of directors reviews market data for executive director compensation for nonprofits of a similar budget size. The chair makes a recommendation, and then the board deliberates and approves the next year's ed salary. The last compensation review took place in june 2023.
