In the current tax year, the organization launched several new initiatives aligned with its mission to strengthen women's leadership in affordable housing and promote equity across the industry. These included: hosting the inaugural national wahn summit, a sold-out event that brought together over 350 professionals for learning, networking, and thought leadership; launching a formal mentorship program to connect emerging and established professionals for structured guidance and support; opening college and university chapters nationwide to cultivate future leaders and provide early access to networking and career development; developing a women-owned and minority-owned business directory to support inclusive procurement in affordable housing partnerships; expanding the ally committee and introducing an ally pledge, offering a public commitment tool for individuals supporting workplace equity and inclusion; . Creating a national job board to facilitate meaningful employment connections across the affordable housing field; . Establishing a state policy & advocacy committee to inform members and build local awareness and idea sharing around housing policy through an equity lens. We work with existing policy and advocacy organizations to stay informed of their work and share with all members these new program services significantly expanded the organization's impact, deepened member engagement, and contributed to the long-term sustainability of its mission.
