College tour in the summer of 2024, the foundation took students to utsa, texas a&m san antonio, and texas a&m kingsville. In the fall of 2024, took students to university of texas el paso. Spring 2024 - the organization hosted a career fair for marfa isd in partnership with marfa education foundation. Students learned about soil health by prepping garden beds and testing the soil, the importance of water by installing irrigation, and were able to take plants home to nurture. The foundation hosted a land stewardship conference for landowners in far west texas which included a trip to the alamito ranch to view land conservation practices and several speakers with knowledge of conditions in far west texas. Land conservation: planted native grass seed west of perdiz creek to restore vegetation composition and productivity to conditions in the middle 1800's. Monitored black gamma garden to discover optimum conditions for growth. Treated salt cedar trees along alamito creek with herbicide to remove this invasive species from riparian corridor. Monitored vegetation covers inside and immediately outside the ten grazing enclosures. Maintaining weather station on the alamito ranch for the state of texas.
