“Legislative: uah staff worked during the state legislative session to increase the income guidelines for school lunch. We worked with rep clancy in this effort that was unsuccessful. Uah staff worked to protect and preserve funding for food banks and food pantries throughout the state. Coalition work: - uah facilitated 6 advocates' meetings with the utah department of workforce services. - uah facilitated 6 pantry association meetings - uah staff facilitated and participated in 12 meetings with food security council the executive director is the current chair. - uah staff participated in 12 meetings for get healthy utah, ghu advocates and works to improve school environments to make them healthier, including increased access to healthy food options. - uah staff worked with a coalition of anti-hunger advocates in bi-monthly meetings discussing challenges and opportunities on the state and federal level to improve policies related to federal nutrition programs. - uah staff participated in monthly meetings with the davis county food environment workgroup. - uah participated in the student basic needs coalition outreach: - uah conducted outreach for snap, double up food bucks, and the senior farmers market nutrition program, assisting over 3,500 people in locating food resources in their community. - uah conducted monthly snap outreach at 3 community learning centers in the salt lake city school district - uah conducted bi-monthly snap outreach at va hospital - uah staff recruited and trained one organization to partner with uah in our snap outreach efforts across the state. Other: hosted 4 virtual community forms. Presented at 6 conferences/classes”
