The Leadership Training Institute of ALA provides outreach programs for community groups schools and agencies. To date LTI has created a program for schools that includes training of teachers counselors and administrators in the use of ALA methods and curriculum to enhance the schools' curriculum; implementation of grade-level Youth Leadership Kick-Off Conferences and after-school programs to further the skills training initiated at the Conferences. The Inter-Generational Program combines trained youth and adults with seniors to solve community problems tapping into the wisdom and skills of the seniors and providing youth the opportunity to demonstrate problem solving leadership and critical thinking in real world situations. Projects are conducted with other community organizations and include: Music and Memory Program which assists Alzheimer's patients in recovering memories. Environmental projects such as beach and creek clean-ups. Land restoration and beautification. Feeding the hungry. Creating community organizers. The Music and Memory program has served seniors with Alzheimer's at two facilities. Junior leaders aged 5-18 have worked with residents of memory care centers to build relationships play music dance and build personalized music playlists for each resident. The music helps residents to recover memories improves mood assists with pain management and improves overall quality of life. Approximately 1,200 children have been served.$0$0
Introduction to Angel Light Academy Angel Light Academy ALA is a 501 c3 organization founded in 1995. Its mission is to enhance the health happiness and well-being of individuals through the practice and demonstration of unconditional love. This is accomplished through education research and service. About Us Angel Light Academy is a caring resource for people of all ages who seek to change their lives. We recognize the strengths in others and build on those strengths. The organization provides opportunities to learn new skills to build confidence and for individuals to grow and be the best they can be. Through training mentoring and nurturing ALA creates inspiring leaders who provide exceptional service to others and their communities. The reputation and success of this training organization have resulted in trusted relationships with teachers school districts and community professionals resulting in increased requests for all of our programs. Founder Julia Wilmot Julia is the mother of two sons and has over thirty years of entrepreneurial business experience. She's served as a secondary school special education and college teacher fundraiser and creator of highly successful prevention programs for children. She developed implemented and raised funds for Project Prevention a program that reached over 600,000 youth in Arizona in the 1990's. This program served as a model for prevention programs throughout the United States. In 2003 she was awarded Woman of the Year for her thirty years of community leadership and service in Arizona. ALA's Commitment to Youth ALA's experience is that children who participate in the Hope for the Future training programs show significant personal growth an increase in self-esteem confidence and problem-solving skills. With ALA's skilled guidance each child has a stronger commitment to community service and experiences an overall increase in their ability to make a difference in the quality of their lives the lives of their families and lives of their friends. Youth Leadership Kick-Off Conference This intense 2-day leadership program teaches leadership traits communication skills problem solving teamwork and community service. Students spend two days with highly trained and qualified facilitators experiencing leadership in such a way that they can take the learning and apply it to real-life situations. The use of skits games and workbooks keep students engaged with the learning. Students learn to solve their everyday problems build self-confidence and learn to become role-models for their friends and families. They identify and solve real-life school community and personal problems that they face. Students create action plans that are safe doable and can be enacted upon leaving the conference.$0$0
Ongoing Leadership Training The conference has traditionally been used as a Kick-Off to year-round leadership programming but may also be used as a culminating event. Those students involved in the 6-week or 36-week leadership programs assist in presentation and facilitation of the conference material increasing their learning and giving them a chance to apply what they've learned. Junior Leader Program The Junior Leader Program is a year-round program that gives leaders in-depth training in leadership skills including character traits problem solving teambuilding and service. Junior Leaders meet every six weeks with well-trained volunteer facilitators to learn leadership skills and apply them while doing service in the community. Junior Leaders are required to attend each meeting participate in service activities and show leadership at home at school and in their communities. Junior Leaders can earn Leadership Pins throughout the year as they complete activities to show their understanding of the Four Pillars of the Leadership Training Institute apply that understanding in various areas of their lives and then take their leadership to new levels with in-depth projects. After-School Programs At the request of school districts and when money is available ALA partners with schools and the State to train students to become responsible leaders within their schools families and communities. Trained credentialed teachers conduct the after-school programs in cooperation with schools to enrich their academic programs. Angels On Earth Angel Light Academy is a non-denominational training organization giving guidance support and hope to adults and children of all ages. You are already an Angel on Earth. every time you help a child or an adult. Now we are asking you to expand by giving to meet community needs.
