Mission

Our mission has been to improve childhood food security and nutrition and to be a safe haven for the working homeless, and at-risk population, underserved, and marginalized communities by uplifting their conditions and providing wrap around services founded in love and friendship. We envision a world that empowers those in need and invisible by providing means to improve their quality of life in a community where they feel worthy, safe and accepted. Through our collective, collaborative sustainability efforts, we are currently taking actions to achieve zero hunger, food security, and wellness equity. Our project cornerstones consisting of four major volunteer workforces behind the following initiatives: 1 Food Gleaning Program, 2 Onsite Client Choice Community Pantry, 3 FAM Rx Produce Food Distribution at Schools, 4 Blessings in a Backpack

Our Mission is to be a channel of safe haven for the homeless & underserved community by uplifting their conditions and providing wrap around services founded in love and friendship. We currently offer wellness feeding program, feeding kids on weekends, housing assistance and family stability program in partnership with our Local Public schools to support families in transitions. Our Call-to-Action initiatives also allow us to support the need of unsheltered individuals through our partnership with local soup kitchen and crisis centers.

Our Hunger Relief Operations at Prince George's was able to serve marginalized population in the following communities: (1) local residents of New Carrollton City; (2) East Riverdale; (3) Title I schools- Carrollton Elementary, Beacon Heights Elementary and Cooper Lane Elementary; We served our communities in need through our food assistance programs: Wellness Feeding Program (Home Delivery), Community Pantry ("Take what you need, Give what you can" approach), and Food Rescue mission. We hosted weekly community pantries both at New Carrollton Municipal and Word of Faith Church while at the same time organize a home delivery program to be able to reach out those vulnerable families who have barriers in participating to our food distribution. During this year, we managed to serve more than 8000 individuals at our community pantry events in Prince George's County. Helping 500 household served each month on a regular basis. Through our 10 plus Food Source Partners, we are able to distribute more than 52,000 lbs of food where majority of them are organic and healthy food options. This is made possible due to in-kind donations of our Food source partners and our Food rescue missions. We also provided hundreds of PPEs (masks, hand sanitizers) to all our title I school partners. This year we expanded the selection of our pantry by provided toiletries and diapers. In addition, our organization participated and hosted back to school events giving away food & healthy snacks to hundreds of families in our sponsored schools. We also finish up our year by giving away thanksgiving meal to hundreds of families and toys for tots during holiday season.$9,800$61,023
We offered hunger and homelessness initiatives in Howard County. Our Hunger Relief initiatives were done through the following programs: (1) Summer Community Pantry; (2) Emergency Food Assistance through our Home Delivery; (3) Feeding Kids on Weekends through Blessing in a backpack program. For last year, we manage to serve 40 households with over 1200 lbs of food each week during summer. We also participated in two back to school events serving 400 families by giving away hundreds of PPEs, toys and fresh produce. Since the previous year (2020), we've expanded our outreach and sponsorship from one school to three title I schools (Laurel Woods Elementary, Longfellow Elementary, and Harper Choice Middle School). We partner Blessings in a Backpack to launch our feeding kids on weekends program to support 72 vulnerable students across three schools that we sponsored. Meanwhile, our homelessness initiative continues to thrive under our Family Self Sufficiency program. This program is supported by several services based on needs of families referred by our school partners. We offer advocacy and referral to our partner community-based organizations. Wrap around support like emergency rental and utility assistance for families facing evictions. We offer home visits for families for "listening sessions" and to understand the area where they are most vulnerable. We also launched our Upper Mobility Program which is both focus on financial and personal development counseling. So far, we had helped about 30 families and currently closely monitoring 10 of them. In addition, we partner with Horizon foundation to help raise diabetes awareness to families that we serve here.$500$23,168
