“The Bottom?s 990 Review process involves our Director of Operations sharing the draft 990 form with the Board of Directors and other members of the Admin team for review. This allows for any inaccuracies to be identified and addressed. Once the form has been reviewed, the Board of Directors holds a vote to approve the form before it is submitted to the IRS.”

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: The Bottom's Ceramics program offers free, six-week sessions focused on ceramic hand-building techniques, nurturing BIPOC Appalachian ceramic craft culture. Participants explore skills like pinch pots, coiling, slab building, and decorative techniques such as slip trailing and sgraffito. Taught by skilled instructors, these workshops provide MFA-level experiential learning, empowering Knoxville?s Black creative community through hands-on engagement in ceramic arts. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: In 2023, The Bottom?s bookshop made significant strides in community engagement by hosting diverse book clubs and author events, both in-person and virtual. We formally launched our Lit Kidz Program, distributing over 185 books and offering creative workshops that served 40 children in its first year. These efforts highlight our commitment to nurturing a love of reading and supporting young minds in our community. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: In its third year, Black Creatives Meetup has continued to grow, providing outreach and support to Black artists since 2021. This year, we introduced a monthly exhibition and reception series to highlight local artists, leading to greater exposure and art sales.
