The purpose of be aware blount is to connect the diverse elements of blount county in a united effort that empowers individuals, stengthens families, and encourages resiliency, to reduce substance abuse risk ractors and increase protective factors through a data informed planning process that results in extensive support and involvement from the community, to develop and support a youth coalition that identifies and addresses community issues and needs, and to act as an instrument for groups and individuals to identify and address social issues that weaken the community. Line 28 first accomplishment: be aware blount provides substance misuse education and awareness to over 10,000 families in blount county through events, education programming, and awareness media campaigns. This is accomplished by partnerships with local schools, law enforcement, community coalition members, and support from local county government.”
