“The primary purpose of Orange Partnership is youth development and empowerment to reduce youth substance use by enhancing protective factors and mitigating risk factors. We do this through collaboration and advocacy, encouraging community connections, mentoring and developing skills.”

“In the past fiscal year, Orange Partnership has increased its capacity to provide youth empowerment programs and mental health and community resiliency education. The youth empowerment program, ADAPT, provided education on substances to over 400 students. Four ADAPT students attended the national CADCA Leadership Forum in Maryland and were selected to represent North Carolina to meet with legislative staff on Capitol Hill. ADAPT students advocated for Supports without Consequences, an education and early intervention for students struggling with vape use, launched at 1 high school, serving 26 students who were referred to an Orange County Health Department tobacco specialist for education and services, with 25% having quit vape use. Orange Partnership was a founding member of the Orange Resilience Initiative to address poor mental health by building resilience skills. Twelve community coalition members were trained as facilitators in youth Mental Health Firt Aid and Community Resilience Model(R). This has further enhanced Orange County Schools ability to provide every incoming first year (freshman) in the district with Teen Mental Health First Aid, serving over 280 students.”
