Form 990 was prepared by an independent cpa utilizing information prepared by the foundation's volunteer accounting team. A draft is provided to the foundation treasurer and mister car wash director of tax for review, and upon their approval, a copy of form 990 is provided to the entire foundation board prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The foundation's conflict of interest policy covers officers, directors, members of committees with board delegated powers, and key employees of the foundation as well as officers, directors, and key employees of car wash partners, inc. And its subsidiaries and affiliates. An interested person must disclose the existence of any possible conflict of interest and, after any discussion, leave the governing board or committee meeting while the determination of a conflict of interest is discussed and voted upon. After exercising due diligence, the governing board or committee shall determine whether the foundation can obtain with reasonable efforts a more advantageous transaction or arrangement that would not give rise to a conflict of interest, and if not possible, it shall be determined by a majority vote of persons without a conflict whether the transaction or arrangement is in the foundation's best interest, for its own benefit, and whether it is fair and reasonable. In conformity with the above determination it shall make its decision as to whether to enter into the transaction or arrangement. Each director, principal officer and member of a committee with governing board-delegated powers shall annually sign a statement that affirms such person: a. Has received a copy of the conflicts of interest policy, b. Has read and understands the policy, c. Has agreed to comply with the policy, and d. Understands the foundation is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities that accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes.

TYPES OF APPLICATIONS THAT WILL BE CONSIDERED INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, EXPENSES RELATED TO UNFORESEEN HEALTH-CARE NEEDS, A DEATH OF AN IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBER, SHELTER, FOOD, AND UTILITIES. THE REQUEST MUST BE DUE TO A SITUATION THAT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN FORESEEN. THE APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE DOCUMENTATION THAT DIRECTLY SUPPORTS THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND AMOUNT OF THE REQUEST. THE AMOUNT OF THE GRANT MUST MATERIALLY IMPROVE OR RESOLVE THE SITUATION. THE MAXIMUM GRANT AMOUNT FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL IS GENERALLY $1,500, WHETHER THAT BE IN A ONE-TIME FUNDING REQUEST, OR COLLECTIVELY IN ONE CALENDAR YEAR. IN EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES, UP TO $3,500 MAY BE GRANTED WITH SPECIAL BOARD APPROVAL.
