The fund provides assistance, relief and aid on a non-discriminatory basis to employees (and their immediate family members) of North American Partners in Anesthesia and its affiliates.

The form 990 was prepared by an independent accounting firm in conjunction with the organization's financial department. A copy of the draft form 990 was circulated to the full board of trustees in either paper or electronic form for discussion and comment. Each board member was provided ample opportunity to comment on the information contained in the 990 prior to its filing with the Internal Revenue Service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12C

Each trustee and officer of the organization is required to annually disclose any conflicts of interest that arise by virtue of employment, board service, or position with the organization. The organization monitors compliance with its conflict of interest policy through an annual questionnaire/disclosure statement that is distributed to these individuals. Potential conflicts are investigated immediately. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 13 & 14 The NAPA Employee Assistance Fund was established in 2020 and is in the process of formalizing all of its internal policies and procedures. The Fund is contemplating the need for instituting a document retention and whistleblower policies since it has no dedicated employees and currently relies upon volunteers.

IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The NAPA Employee Assistance Fund, Inc. provides relief and assistance to employees of NAPA and their immediate family members, who have experienced unforeseen emergencies such a major medical situation, a catastrophic event, or other challenges that create an emergent financial hardship. The amount of an award can range from $1,000 to $10,000 and is determined at the discretion of the Grant committee. An employee can apply for up to two grants in a rolling twelve month period; however the maximum assistance in the rolling twelve months is limited to $10,000 per employee. Grant applicants are required to substantiate their need in an application; the incident for which the employee is requesting financial aid must have occurred while employed by NAPA and within ninety days of applying for assistance. Once the grant is approved by the grant committee, no further substantiation on the use of the funds are required because the applicant would have had to substantiate his or her need in the initial application for relief.
