Mission

The community pantry was established in 1998 for the purpose of providing food to the needy through various programs in the gallup and grants, new mexico areas. The organization receives donated food from other not-for- profit organizations, individuals and businesses. Some of the food is received through the organizations affiliation with feeding america. The food is distributed free or for a nominal charge to needy individuals and families or agencies who directly feed the needy.

OUR 6,500 FAMILIES INCLUDE OVER 7,000 CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE WITH 1200 SENIORS. THIS YEAR WE HAD A SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR SENIORS WHICH PROVIDED A STAPLE BOX FOR 336 SENIORS THROUGH THE SENIOR CENTERS. OUR BACKPACK PROGRAM SERVED 456 CHILDREN IN MCKINLEY AND CIBOLA COUNTIES. THROUGH A MORE STRINGENT REVIEW OF RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS AND FAMILY MAKEUP WE HAVE DECREASED OUR INTAKE TO A MAXIMUM OF 5 NEW REGISTRANTS A DAY.
