FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The organization has an executive committee which oversees the audit of the organization's financial statements. This has not changed from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Gaar is a not-for-profit organization exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code, but is required to pay unrelated business income tax on activities that fall outside of the scope of its tax-exempt purpose. Gaar has adopted accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america as they relate to uncertain tax positions. Management believes that the activities of gaar are within their tax-exempt purpose, with the exception noted above, and that there are no material uncertainties in regards to tax positions. Currently, the 2012, 2013 and 2014 tax years are open and subject to examination by the internal revenue service and new mexico taxation and revenue department. Management believes all positions taken would be upheld under an examination. Therefore, no provision for the effects of uncertain tax positions has been recorded for the years ended december 31, 2015 or 2014, respectively.
