Activity 2

The Crossing: DRM provides 83 transitional living units at The Crossing for homeless working families and individuals in the STAR Transitional Program. These families will pay rent and bills on time, save money, attend workshops, case management and counseling sessions, and locate permanent housing. Through the New Life Program, which is implemented at The Crossing and three of our other facilities, DRM provides substance abuse rehabilitation for more than 230 men and women at all times. The program emphasizes education, overcoming addictions, employment readiness, life-skills training and good work habits.

Activity 3

Lawrence Street Shelter: Lawrence Street Shelter is DRM's 'flagship' facility that provides a safety net for homeless men, women, and children. It is open 365 days a year to provide food, shelter, clothing, and health care to the needy. All 200 beds are filled every night, and more than 100 additional cots and sleeping mats are used as needed. DRM serves three hot meals daily to anyone. Each meal served consists of six ounces of meat, four ounces of starch, and four ounces of vegetables.
