“Part 1.10. Grants and similar amounts paid $136,097.00 The Gender Equality by Mitigating Droughts (GEMD) project focuses on empowering women and girls in 8 villages of Jodhpur District in Rajasthan, India. This included construction of rainwater harvesting structures, plantation, training and capacity building etc covering a population of about 15,000 people. 65 drinking water tanks were constructed, 1 pond was renovated, 65 farming dykes were built and 65 horticulture units were set up, 5 agro forestry units were set up. 40 trainings for women and girls were organized. 20 outreach medical camps were organized. $19,903.00 The school repair project supported the renovation of five primary schools for mineworkers' children in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The repair work at the five schools included the following: the construction of hand-washing stations, toilets, boundary walls, the repair of old walls and doors, painting buildings, installing water filters, buying a computer for each school, and providing teaching materials.
