Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The foundation is generally exempt from federal and california income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and section 23701d of the california revenue and taxation code. In addition, the foundation qualifies for charitable contributions deductions and has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation. Income that is not related to exempt purposes, less applicable deductions, is subject to federal and state income taxes. There was no tax liability for unrelated business income for the period ended december 31, 2021. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. The foundation's tax returns are subject to review and examination by federal and state authorities. The foundation is not aware of any activities that would jeopardize its tax-exempt status. The foundation does not have any material uncertain tax positions. The foundation files informational tax returns in the u.s. Federal and state jurisdictions.
