The conflict of interest policy applies to members of the board of trustees, officers, employees, and key personnel of the organization. These individuals are considered "insiders" under the policy. After an insider discloses an interest and all material facts, the board is responsible for determining if a conflict of interest exists. The board deliberates on the transaction in the absence of the insider(s) and any other interested person(s) involved in the transaction. Conflicts of interest are reviewed and addressed at the board level. The board may ask questions and receive presentations from insiders and interested parties but deliberates and votes on the transaction in their absence to ensure impartiality. If the board determines that an insider has failed to disclose a conflict of interest, appropriate disciplinary and corrective action is taken. The policy prohibits voting members with conflicts from participating in matters pertaining to their compensation. The trustees are required to sign a conflict of interest policy annually.

The organization conducts a comparative analysis of compensation paid by kc llc staff to compensation paid by local, sector, and national nonprofit organizations. Benchmarking practices against relevant market data, including local labor market benchmarks and regional nonprofit sector benchmarks. This includes examining job descriptions, special requirements, skills, complexity, and responsibility related to each position when making comparisons. The basis upon which compensation is provided to each employee is documented and reviewed by management and the board of trustees. The compensation of executive staff is determined by the board of trustees. Deliberations and decisions on executive staff compensations are recorded into the minutes of board meetings.

The general purpose of the krishnamurti center, llc is as set forth in its articles of organization. The specific purpose of the krishnamurti center, llc is (i) to own and operate the krishnamurti center which conducts seminars, provides conference rooms and short term stays for guests, long term stays for scholars and students of krishnamurti's teachings, and engage in the education, publication and distribution of books, films, and recordings promulgating the teachings of j. Krishnamurti, (ii) to collect and receive contributions for charitable and educational purposes, as a nonprofit organization, and (iii) maintain and operate real property owned by the krishnamurti center, llc.
