The corporation was formed to promote education by the grant of awards scholarships to persons who are full-time undergraduate students in good standing at the university of north carolina chapel hill with preference to such person who are members of the alpha delta chapter of the alpha tau omega fraternity, based upon such eligibility criteria and selection criteria as may be approved from time-to-time by the corporation's board of directors. The purpose of the scholarship awards is to promote and reward the values of academic achievement and service to the chapter, the university, and the broader community, and to serve as a beacon to attract to the fraternity young men who share these values.
