IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0YOUNG VETERAN CAREER TRANSITIONS: NEWIMPACT, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE USO AND WITH SUPPORT FROM THE SCHULTZ FAMILY FOUNDATION, CONDUCTED A PROJECT TO ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES FACED BY JUNIOR ENLISTED SERVICE MEMBERS (E1-E4) TRANSITIONING FROM MILITARY TO CIVILIAN LIFE. THE PROJECT AIMED TO DISCOVER WAYS TO MAKE THE TRANSITION PROCESS MORE EFFICIENT BY LEVERAGING EXISTING RESOURCES AND INCREASING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ORGANIZATIONS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT MILITARY PERSONNEL.ONE OF THE MAJOR CHALLENGES FACED BY TRANSITIONING PERSONNEL IS THE DISJOINTED AND DIFFICULT-TO-NAVIGATE VETERAN SUPPORT ECOSYSTEM, WITH OVER 40,000 ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING ASSISTANCE. TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, NEWIMPACT DEVELOPED A TRI-SECTOR STRATEGY FOCUSED ON ENHANCING THE POST-TRANSITION OUTCOMES FOR JUNIOR ENLISTED SERVICE MEMBERS.THE SOLUTION PROPOSED WAS THE CREATION OF AN MSO/VSO ECOSYSTEM CO-OP THAT LEVERAGES THE ROBUST VETERAN SUPPORT ECOSYSTEM TO BETTER SUPPORT AND PAY FOR SERVICES REQUIRED TO MAKE THE TRANSITION TO CIVILIAN LIFE MOST EFFECTIVE. THE ECOSYSTEM, WITH A DEFINED STRUCTURE, WILL FOCUS ON WORKFORCE TRANSITION, ENSURING COLLABORATION AND INCLUSIVITY AND CREATING A CULTURE WHERE MEMBERSHIP IS SEEN AS HIGHLY BENEFICIAL TO THE ECOSYSTEM AND INDIVIDUAL MEMBER'S ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESS. A SEMI-DECENTRALIZED GOVERNANCE MODEL WILL SET EXPLICIT EXPECTATIONS FOR RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND REVENUE SHARING. THIS SOLUTION WILL BENEFIT NOT ONLY YOUNG VETERANS BUT ALL VETERANS SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN THEIR TRANSITION TO CIVILIAN LIFE. SPENDING ON THIS PROJECT BEGAN IN 2021.
