Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The Corporation's primary purpose will be to support the Bremerton Housing Authority's charitable, educational and scientific programs by soliciting funding to support the capital and maintenance needs of the property owned and managed by the Bremerton Housing Authority, to acquire or develop new low income housing properties exclusively for the benefit of the Bremerton Housing Authority, and for supportive services to residents.

Bremerton Housing Authority (BHA) has hired a new manager to provide oversight to the Community Connection's team. The main focus will be to increase agency communication both internally and externally with residents, prospective clients, community partners, funders and the city as a whole. All of which will be integral to the operations and execution of Sound Community's Mission. BHA has completed its re-branding of its Family Self Sufficiency program and hired a new coordinator in which to run it. Project F.R.E.E. (Family Resiliency & Economic Empowerment) is re-establishing the program infrastructure to better serve our clients on their path to finding an increase in stability. Once these changes have been fully implemented and new community strategies have been discussed, BHA will look at additional grant opportunities to assist with Sound Community's projects in the community.$0$0
