“The Form 990 is generated from the QuickBooks Online activity that is managed by the organization's bookkeeper. The bookkeeper and the CEO meet monthly to review the reconciliation and discuss lingering questions. At the end of the fiscal year, the CEO and Treasurer for the organization reviewed the financial statements for the year and ensured the correct information and responses are recorded for the organization. After a review of all the schedules and responses, the Form 990 is reviewed by a CPA firm. Once the Form 990 is reviewed by the CPA firm, a full final copy of the Form 990 is presented to the full board before it is submitted to the IRS. Any questions or comments are addressed prior to the submission.”

“All Rise's policy requires an annual review and signed acknowledgment of the conflicts of interest policy from each board member. The acknowledgment means the board member has reviewed the policy, will comply with the policy, and disclose any necessary information to identify if any conflicts of interest exist. Further, board members must always disclose any conflict of interest on matters that the board or board committee is considering or voting on. This information is maintained within the board meeting minutes and tracked by the CEO for any additional review or disclosure purposes as needed.”

“An ad hoc committee composed of board members meets at least yearly to determine the compensation of the CEO and other senior executives. During this meeting, metrics and other compensation information based on comparable regional and educational nonprofit organizations are utilized in determining the next steps.”

“All governing documents are available upon request or via Candid. All Rise will post Forms 990 and audited financial statements on our website starting in FY 2023.”

“All Rise partnered with The We Are All Educators Organization (The WAAE) to deliver monthly workshops in the 2020-2021 school year that promote college and career exploration to young men of color at Eastern High School in Washington, DC. The workshops included skills development and preparation for postsecondary success (professional dress, resume writing, interview skills, elevator pitch, and networking). Additionally, workshops centered on college prep resources, including college exploration, college applications, finances/financial aid, family responsibility, campus life, and in many instances, balancing work and course load management. Young men of color in the 11th and 12th grades gained exposure to mentorship and financial support at the postsecondary level. Finally, 12th-grade students were eligible to apply for the Minds Free to Dream scholarship opportunities. Though slots were incredibly competitive, three Eastern students were accepted to All Rise scholarship programs for the 2021-22 academic year. The young men accepted to All Rise's programs will gain critically needed financial support and other services unique to postsecondary education success. Moreover, they will join with more than 20 other scholars working to complete college.”

“Yes- All Rise initiated the planning process for MKE Rising, an initiative scheduled to launch in FY 2022. MKE Rising addresses the significant gap in representation for men of color serving as educators in PreK-12 classrooms across the country. The pilot program will serve 6-10 aspiring educators who will support up to 150 students.”
