We blend content creation, community building, and friend-to- friend outreach to advance the issues, causes, and candidates that align with our values. “Content creation and promotion: red wine & blue uses content to engage and organize suburban women. We meet women where they are to get where we need to go together. We produce parodies, personal stories, kid explainers, pandemic profiles, highly-personal live streams with senators, authors, faith leaders, and more that draw in women who do not consider themselves political. Our content meets them where they are and makes them feel seen, heard, and inspired. To increase the viral nature of our content, we make it fun, heartfelt, and humorous so they feel safe and proud to share it with their networks. Community-building and friend-to-friend organizing: many women feel like political outsiders, but most are trusted community insiders, with extensive networks bridging many different communities and interests. As they connect with one another and share our content across these networks, these trusted messengers increase rwb's reach and generate additional new members who want to get involved. Research confirms that friend-to-friend communication is the most effective form of voter outreach, but it's also perceived to be the most socially risky. Rwb helps women build the confidence and civic muscle to tap these relational networks by sharing our non-traditional content and realizing their power to influence the people they know. In any given week at rwb, women are having conversations with popular authors like heather cox richardson or pulitzer prize-winning journalist connie schultz; engaging with elected officials; creating content debunking the latest right-wing narratives about "suburban moms,- and helping drive positive narratives about policy issues that impact our lives by sharing stories and making them more relatable. Look ahead: for 2021-22, rwb wants to build off its successes. Rwb is not just a political entity; we're a civic home for women to feel supported, inspired, and empowered. By expanding our presence nationally as a trusted community and content creator, we will channel the power of millions of suburban women to win campaigns, fight disinformation, protect our democracy, and advance our values. We seek to build additional muscle that can be readily deployed in short notice while also empowering hundreds more communities of suburban women to tackle any goal, year-round.”
