Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Project I See You exists to create spaces where women can awaken inwardly, express vulnerability outwardly, and change the communities they're a part of dramatically! We are a women-powered movement radically transforming communities through the reciprocal dignity of serving and being served, healing and being healed, seeing, and being seen. This happens in ALL the women who participate with us; ISY doesn't distinguish between those who are helping and those being helped, yet this reciprocal exchange is most powerful in settings where women are challenged to move out of their comfort zones. We do this through our existing programs: Centro Te Veo, Te Veo House Denver, the Shared Power Initiative and Circles.

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

Shared Power Initiative was a program created in 2020 in response to the financial stress that Covid 19 caused, especially in targeted areas that were most affected financially and populations of underserved women of color. We created the Shared Power Initiative in order to provide grants to these women's small businesses or to grant funds needed for the purchase a home. This program includes financial grants, but also support and education around home and business ownership, finances and budgeting. Each grantee is part of a cohort that meets regularly for the sharing of ideas, questions and continuing education. Project I See You also provides volunteers to assist with needed repairs, counseling and many other support services around home and business ownership. Our first virtual fundraising campaign held in November 2020 presented the Shared Power Initiative and encouraged supporters to create a team, whereby they would commit to raising $10,000, potentially for 1 grant scholarship. Our goal was to raise a total of $100,000 in 2021 in order to award up to 10 grants. We raised a portion of the funds in 2020 with the goal of completing funding and awarding grants in late 2021. A formal policy was written to establish the criteria for grant recipients and an application process was put into place.

IRS990/MissionDesc0Project I See You exists to create spaces where women can awaken inwardly, express vulnerability outwardly, and change the communities they're a part of dramatically!

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Shared Power Initiative was a program created in 2020 in response to the financial stress that Covid 19 caused, especially in targeted areas that were most affected financially and populations of underserved women of color.
