Dance improves mental, physical, and emotional health as well as social skills, cognitive abilities and educational outcomes. Our primary purpose is to promote, present, and produce inclusive and equitable dance education, performance, and community engagement projects, as well as fund various dance grants focused on the underserved as a method to enrich the well-being of our local community today, and into the future

| ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt | 0 | REASONABLE CAUSE EXPLANATIONS STATEMENT REGARDING LATE FILING of 2021-2022 Fiscal Year 990. Last reporting period of 2020-2021 period was our first non-profit fiscal year end, it was a partial year, and our receipts were only 19500., so we filed the 990N. Elementary and quick. For this reporting period our receipts rose to 73,799. requiring us to file a 990 EZ by November 15. Being a new, small organization, and assuming it would only be slightly more complicated than the 990N, I attended to a number of competing priorities and began working on year- end reporting in October, Big Mistake! I found the requirements necessary for a clean, complete and accurate filing for the EZ report were actually quite extensive taking much, much longer than I had anticipated, couple this with the delays of the holidays, and finally, the re-mapping of our Statement of Activities to clearly align with the 990 reporting. Then to add insult to injury, I did not choose optimal software to file, lending towards my using the wrong year form, causing it to reject. I struggled to communicate with the company for over a week in effort to correct the filing, until I finally abandoned the efforts and found Form990Online. I had to refile from the beginning. I deeply regret I underestimated the time and effort it would take, which resulted in me filing for an extension. However, the good news is I am now more experienced, and all of the accounting clarifications and reconciliations combined with the remapping work done this period will result in a more efficient and timely process next filing period.
