Governance Explanations

The organization follows an internal review process to ensure the accuracy and completeness of its Form 990. Financial data is compiled and reconciled by organizational leadership using internal records, including accounting reports and supporting documentation. The draft Form 990 is then prepared in coordination with an external tax preparer and reviewed by the Executive Director for accuracy, consistency with organizational activities, and alignment with financial statements. Upon completion of the draft, the Form 990 is shared with members of the Board of Directors for review and oversight prior to filing. Any questions or revisions identified during this process are addressed collaboratively between leadership and the tax preparer. Once finalized, the Executive Director authorizes the submission of the Form 990 to the Internal Revenue Service. This process is intended to promote transparency, accountability, and compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
